UNE DÉLÉGATION DE MDI À DOAGH...

Les éléments constitutifs du programme qui "attend" la délégation MDI à DOAGH, du 11 au 17 novembre 2007.

- Looking around Doagh village and Ballyclare and identify some of our problems and successes.
- Meeting with Newtownabbey Borough Council representatives for Doagh at the historic Council Headquarters, a converted linen mill.
- Meeting with FORD Focus On Reimaging Doagh)
- Meeting with Doagh Village Community Association
- Visit to the Ancient Sites of County Antrim and some Irish Mythology
Workshops about the future planning of our partnership, local sponsors from the business community etc.
- Cultural Visits eg Bushmills Distillery, Ancient Tool-Making Factory in Newtownabbey, Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Belfast City,Linenhall Library,
- PRONI (Public Records Office for Northern Ireland, open to the public to trace their ancestors or other geneology projects)
- Experience some Irish Music and Dance
- Visit to Broughshane (European winner for Village in Flower) and meet with organisers
- Visit to the eel Fishery in Lough Neagh
- Ulster Scots Society (Strong connection between East Antrim and Scotland in Language, Music, culture etc)
- Workshop around the work of DVCA and FORD and how to involve local people in the development of the village
- Resolving community tension and local power struggles
- Meeting with Jeanette Thornton from the European Commission. How to apply for European funding for cross-european partnerships and current opportunities for support from EU
- Visit to projects which encourage and support celebration of culture
- Meeting with Inter-cultural organisations which help ease racial tension between local people and the large, recent influx to NI of workers from Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Latvia.
- Brief History of Northern Ireland's complicated society!!
- Opportunity to visit Stormont (Parliament of N.Ireland)

A l'issue de cette deuxième session de travail (la 1ère ayant eu lieu à Mont-Dol du 22 au 29 septembre, voir sur ce blog en page "Irlande du Nord"), les associations MDI et FORD-Village Community Association conviendront du programme de leur partenariat.
